Navigating Your Emotional Triggers
Saturday December 5, 2020
10:00-1:00 CST via Zoom
Having difficulty regulating your emotions so that you can respond vs. react when someone or something triggers you? Anxious about reuniting with family over the holidays and how you are going to control your emotions when a family member inevitably triggers you? Struggling with perfectionism or people pleasing at work (these are nervous system responses to being triggered)? Feeling internally triggered and on edge even though you can keep it together for the outside world? If you relate to any or all of these situations, then you have come to the right place!
Workshop Specifics: A nervous system approach to increasing the capacity for thoughtful responses vs. immediate reactions when emotionally triggered. This includes managing your internal reactions (e.g. anxiety) and how to thoughtfully respond to the outside world when triggered. Perhaps you can respond appropriately externally, but experience uncomfortable internal emotions. We will address both internal and external responses.
1. Increased self-awareness of your specific emotional triggers.
2. Somatic based strategies to regulate a triggered nervous system.
3. Understand the difference between immediate ego reactions vs. thoughtful self-actualized responses to triggers.
4. New thoughtful responses to implement to replace habitual reactions to emotional triggers.
Excited to have you in the workshop!
